One of the main reasons I was so happy with the server I got was the fact it included a DVD drive. This was very useful as the last DVD drive I had been using was in a old laptop and stopped working a few months earlier.
I downloaded and extracted makemkv in a nfs share on my proxmox host os. I can then run the command “makemkvcon mkv dev:/dev/sr0 all .” this rips the disk to my nas which then allows me to put it though handbrake on a windows 11 vm.
