Opnsense

I began with goal of making a cyber security home lab for learning on my r720. The first part of this was to set up a separate network so I could change settings without taking down my familys internet. So I installed Opnsense on a vm and added two network device my normal bridge(WAN) and a bridge that is bound to nothing(LAN) I booted into the live environment and ran the installer. When it rebooted I checked the assignments and found that the wan and lan were the wrong way round. I changed that and the interface ip and then connected my kali box to the LAN and accessed the interface.

I set up dhcp and firewall rules for the main LAN. I then moved on to setting up vlans which went smoothly with me just setting the subnet, dhcp, dns and firewall for 3 vlan tags. The only issue I have not been able to solve is that I can’t access the Opnsense LAN from my main LAN the main issue with this is that my isp router doesn’t have routes and for some reason I couldn’t seem to add them to windows. So I can access my main from the Opn but not the other way which is a shame.
