So I recently tried to remove my Application Dataset on my TrueNAS scale NAS. It was just annoying seeing it constantly when i didn’t have any applications running through TrueNAS so went to remove it and it said it was busy. I thought that can’t be right I know there are no applications installed so I spent a while online and found out how to force remove the dataset and I did.
Fast forward a couple of hours and suddenly my NAS breaks I mean everything can’t read can’t write nothing so I look at the panel and theres a task running using all the CPU I look its the TrueCharts catalog trying to check its up to data. For those of you who don’t know installing TrueCharts normally takes like 10-20 minutes and this was completely brocken so in the end the onlything I can do is Just add back the dataset and then my NAS starts working again.
