Ever since i moved behind starlinks cgnat i have been looking for a way to proxy my sites out to a public ip I have been using cloudflare tunnels for http/https however for tcp/udp i have been less successful as a patch job i setup playit.gg for git and minecraft however this has a very low amount of ports and does not let you chose which port to use.
My first major break through came when i started investigating oracle cloud free tier. My first attempt was using a software called pangolin and i just could not figure out its tunnelling. I then looked to wireguard and while i could create a tunnel i ran into a issue with ip config where the tunnel wouldn’t bind to the public ip only to the tunnel ip.
The one which finally worked was as you can guess rathole. It has a docker image and uses a single config file on both ends. This makes it ideal to use in my current environment. I am still unsure if i want to switch off of cloudflare tunnel but i will definitely switch off playit.gg.

Ever since I lost access to my public ip by moving behind starlink I had been looking for a good way to proxy all my services. In my hunt i came across Oracles generous free tier. They offer an arm machine with up to 4 cores and 24GB of RAM. As well as 2 vms with 1 x86 core and 1 GB of RAM. My initial intention was to run docker on the arm vm and have a tunnel run on that. However these arm vm have very desirable and hard to get as they are limited for free tier customers. I have been trying for almost 3 weeks now using a terraform script to provision this vm. However I have so far been unsuccessful leaving me with just the x86 vms which i have been unable to run dnf installs on due to the RAM even after trying to add a swap file. So overall I have been unsuccessful trying to use oracle free tier.
